Rewriting music for cello and piano

Posted by Andre van Haren on April 5, 2009 at 4:32 PM

After finishing my latest piece, "A Searching Child", for piano solo and for violin and piano ( piano solo: A searching child
piano and violin: A Searching child ), I decided to have a look again at my cello and piano arrangements of my piano "moments". I already made versions of some of the Moment pieces for this duo but now I have found musicians who really seem to like them, I have decided to rework all the movements .

Here again are the seperate movements of "moments" for piano:

1. After work, in the night

2. Cat's play

3. A midday nap

4. At work

5. Who's there?

6. Goodnight - There he goes!

And here they are for violin and piano:

1. After work, in the night - Played by Matthew Weiss, violin, and Bill Clarke, piano.

2. Cat's play - recorded on my mac...

3. A midday nap - recorded on my mac...

4. At work - recorded on my mac...

5. Who's there? - recorded on my mac...

6. Goodbye - There he goes! - recorded on my mac...

And here are some of them for orchestra, I still need to finishe the other movements:

1: After work, late at night
2: Cat's play
6: Goodnight

For cello... coming soon!

Have a nice day!

André

A Searching Child - very nice composition. I like the slow interlude -- so soft and lyrical, as it should be for a child, and how it contrasts with the faster intro and finale sections. What a nice gift to your friends.

I hear a bit of Debussy in Searching Child.
