My own fledgling compositions have so far been an exploration of Mozart, who as the Prince of Melody has always been my favorite composer. But Mozart, like the era he embodied, only goes so far; and if one hopes to score films (as I do), one must be able to range all over the emotional spectrum, musically speaking. That's what I like about your symphony, Andre: it runs the gamut, stylistically, with each passage expressing its own feeling. I echo the sentiment expressed by another listener: that many parts of your symphony could be in a film score. It's a very sophisticated work. | |
