Dit lied is gebaseerd op een melodie van mijn eerste piano sonata, de tekst is geschreven en gezongen door Richard Schletty.

Ik ontmoette Richard tijdens een chat in een muziek chatroom op het internet. Ik mailde hem een paar liederen, hij mailde mij een aantal gedichten. We besloten samen te werken aan een muziekstuk en Inland Sea is het resultaat. Richard heeft een interessante website en is de moeite waard te bezoeken.

Waves traverse an inland sea
Songbird flies from Zuider Zee
Lifted by a prayerful poem
Journeys to a northern home
On a windy, snow-capped knoll

Soon a maiden finds it resting

Polymnia tends the sparrow
